Guidelines
Trash, recycling, and final lease steps.
Trash
Trash is not allowed on the green belt between the sidewalk and road. The City may issue tickets for trash, furniture, or belongings left there, and any fines charged to the property are the resident’s responsibility.
Large items such as furniture, electronics, TVs, computers, and appliances may not be placed in dumpsters or trash cans. Contact ReSOURCE VT, 1-800-GOT-JUNK, or Myers Trash for large item removal.
Recycling
Vermont mandates recycling and enforces local recycling ordinances. Separate recyclable materials from other waste and place them in proper recycling containers. Chittenden Solid Waste District can provide recycling guidance and blue bins.
Finalizing a lease
Set up a time to sign the lease and submit the security deposit and registration fee, or complete your lease digitally when available. Security deposit is equal to one month’s rent with applicable pet, trash, or water fees folded in. Registration fee is 115 dollars annually.
ACH is mandatory for all leases. Bring a voided check or bank documentation to verify your routing and account numbers. Credit and debit card payments are not accepted.
